Contribute or attend
There is no form on this site, on purpose. Form services log IP addresses, and a promise of anonymity that depends on a third party's logging policy is not a promise.
Before you write
Send nothing your employer would consider confidential. Invariant publishes views held by people who work on these systems, not what their employers know. No internal results, no unreleased model behaviour, no roadmaps, no incident details.
Write from an address that is not your work address and not your legal name, if you can. A throwaway mailbox is sufficient and is the most common way people contribute.
For anything sensitive, use Tor to reach the mailbox provider's web interface from a machine that is not your work machine.
What happens to it
Correspondence goes to one mailbox. Editorial replies ask about the argument, never about you. Once a piece is published, the correspondence around it is deleted.
Every piece gets a house edit for voice as well as content. Prose style is an attribution in slow motion, and two pieces published raw by the same person are linkable to each other.
Nothing identifying you is published, including by elimination. If a detail is load-bearing for the argument and would narrow the field to a handful of people, it comes out and the argument is rewritten around it.
Attending an assembly
Assemblies are closed and capped. Write to the address above with one paragraph on what you work on, at whatever level of detail you are comfortable with. Requests are reviewed by the convener, are not acknowledged publicly, and a declined request is not recorded anywhere.
The button opens a pre-filled email in your own mail program. Nothing is sent from this site. The next assembly is 08, New York, November 2026.
Sessions run under the Chatham House Rule, stated in the invitation and again at the start of the session. Participants may use what was said. Never who said it, never where they work.
